It’s Chili Season! Yum!
It’s that time of year when fall has settled in and the cooler weather is here to stay. That also means it’s chili season! I love this because its probably the only other time (besides grilling steaks) that my husband puts his chef hat on and makes his famous chili. Yum!

Ingredients needed:
- 1lb ground meat of choice (we typically use a 90/10 lean ground turkey)
- 1 can of pinto beans (drained)
- 1 can of kidney beans (drained)
- 3-4 small cans of tomato sauce (depending on how ‘saucy’ you like your chili. We use about 2-3)
- 1 jar of jalapenos (drained)
- 1 package of chili seasoning (we typically use McCormick’s seasoning)
Additional ingredients (if desired):
- Fresh jalapenos (chopped)
- Sour cream
- Cheese
- Pico de Gallo
- Fritos
- Set stove to medium and in a larger pot add the 1lb of meat. While the meat is browning add the packet of chili seasoning. Once the meat is brown DO NOT drain, you want all that flavor to make the chili just perfect!
- Next, add the tomato sauce (again the number of cans used is depending on how saucy you prefer your chili), drained kidney and pinto beans, and drained jalapenos.
- Turn heat to low and simmer for about 10 minutes allowing all the flavory goodness to come together.
- Once everything is happily married, it’s time to serve! Add your favorite topping-for me its all the additional ingredients I listed above-and enjoy!
